Fans of the inimitable Japanese Guinea Pig series, and gore-hounds alike, will be ravenous with the latest news from Unearthed Films and their concerted efforts in bringing us a new bastard stepchild to the ultra-violent series, American Guinea Pig Bouquet of Guts and Gore.  The team behind the new American installment, Director Stephen Biro, Director of Photography Jim Van Bebber and Special Effects man Marcus Koch seem to be steering this bloodbath in the right direction. Jorg Buttgereit, the mastermind behind the tragic horror love stories Nekromantik and Nekromantik 2, the man behind the eerie and atmospheric serial killer movie Schramm, seemed to vanish from horror movies altogether. Controversy can be a good thing or a bad thing. Funding has always had Buttgereit spread his work out thinly. So for a few years after Schramm, he popped up directing an episode of Lexx and had some bits and pieces TV work here and there as well.

However, aside from some acting roles, this infamous gore community director seems set for a comeback. He's been putting out short films like Sexmonster, Green Frankenstein, and Video Nasty, to small cult audiences. The comeback in question is his involvement in an anthology called German Angst (sharing duties with two other directors). Read More...
