It began with Family Guy: Blue Harvest, a spoof of Star Wars: A New Hope played by all of your favorite Family Guy characters.  Now, back again with another spooftastic riff on Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, is Family Guy: Something, Something, Something Dark Side.

Once again the Griffins are watching the tube when the power goes.  Peter relives another Star Wars tale with The Empire Strikes Back, right where Blue Harvest left off.  Luke Skywalker/Chris and R2-D2/Cleveland hang out in the swamps of the Dagobah System where Luke learns the force from Yoda/Chris' boss Carl.  He trains in the swamp (intercut with ridiculous footage of Dolph Lundgren working out, Rocky IV) before teaming up with the Han Solo/Peter, Princess Leia/Lois, Chewy/Brian and C-3PO/Quagmire to battle the dark side and Vader/Stewie.

Something, Something, Something Dark Side introduces some new characters and a ton of the typical jokes and pop cultural references fans of Family Guy have grown to love.  The Giant Chicken turns up as Boba Fett and Mort Goldman plays Lando Calrissian.  Cookie Monster even appears as a snow monster.  As always Meg gets the short end of the stick with her portrayal of the Giant Space Slug!  A Juicy Fruit commercial is parodied by Peter, they make fun of Fox for giving George Lucas the merchandising rights to Star Wars (an insane truth), and also point out that the final scene of Teen Wolf contains a guy in the crowd with his dick out!

Overall this is another welcomed Star Wars parody which leaves the fans wanting a swift release of the third satirical instalment of Episode VI.

20th Century Fox strikes back with Family Guy: Something, Something, Something Dark Side in a full frame 1.33:1 aspect ratio which looks excellent.  The audio is English Dolby Digital 5.1 with English, Spanish and French subtitles.  The extras contain a commentary by executive producers Seth MacFarlane, Mark Hentlemann and David A. Godman, writer Kirker Butler, director Dominic Polcino and actor Seth Green.  'Family Guy Fact-Ups' lets you watch the film with onscreen factoids pop-ups.  'The Dark Side of Poster Art' is an awesome 9-minute featurette that shows how Joe Vaux went about painting the poster art for Something, Something, Something Dark Side.  The director takes us through the pencil drawn rough anamatic versus final color reel of the film in the 7-minute featurette 'Anamatic Scene-To-Scene with Commentary by Dominic Polcino'.  Rounding out the extras are table reads from the film as well as a sneak peak at episode VI.
