Ho ho ho.  Though the Anti Santa would love to excite us all with awesome overdue DVD and Blu-ray releases of 80s memories, we're gonna have to wait I'm afraid just a bit longer.  Most mainstream horror websites like Bloody Disgusting, Dread Central and Fear Net have reported these so it's the turn of your favorite Severed Cinema to do this now.

Mid February 2013 brings us gems such as "Prison," "Terrorvision" and..... ready for it.... "The Video Dead!"  Yes that's right the classic cheese zombie-through-your-TV epic is coming to us.  It's double billed with "Terrorvision" and is great news for anyone who, like me, still touch an old ex rental VHS box version fondly.  It's only been available on a German dubbed DVD release and a few dodgy DVD-Rs until now.  All three are coming out courtesy of Scream Factory and each one have audio commentries, making of documentaries (apart from "TVD") and interviews.  "Prison" even comes with a cool poster limited to 150.

Also looming on the horizon are collector's editions of "Deadly Blessing," "The Monster Club," "Hands Of The Ripper,"  "The Vampire Lovers" (by Scream Factory) and Chas Band's Full Moon production "The Evil Clergyman."  The latter I tried hunting down some years ago but no joy.  It seems though it was made in 1987 (and a few pics placed in Gorezone magazine) it never actually came out until now.  "Deadly Blessing" (also released by Shout Factory) has some decent extras like interviews with Wes Craven and Michael Berryman.

Though not much is known, Scream Factory are also putting together a collectors edition of Stuart Gordon's "From Beyond" some time soon.  All I can say is, “Whoaa!!”

As I search Scream Factory's website a few more upcoming releases leap up: "The Fog," "The Burning," "Night Of The Comet" (a nice replacement for the bland MGM release), and another never released on disc gem "The Vagrant."  Now I just have to wish for a special edition release for "Highway To Hell" to arrive.  Please.

Footnote: Synapse are bringing out the "Violent Shit" Trilogy next year. Indeed.
