I Spit on Your Previous Film, 2 Print E-mail

Honestly, I was quite shocked to read that there's a sequel to the 2010 remake of the nasty classic "I Spit On Your Grave."  I suppose it makes sense, I mean the original and the remake both tied up their loose ends well, and the 2010 version should stand alone.  Plus the fact that the 2010 remake was actually a good film, so of course we have to have a part 2 don't we?

In this world of hit and miss sequels it's a tightrope we walk  when discussing this.  Upcoming Horror Movies site posted this synopsis, and to be fair it doesn't sound too bad: “Naturally beautiful, Jessica has just settled into New York where she, like many other young women, is trying to make it as a model.  But what starts out as an innocent and simple photo shoot soon turns into something disturbingly unthinkable!  Raped, tortured and kidnapped to a foreign country, Jessica is buried alive and left to die.  Against all odds, she manages to escape.  Severely injured, she will have to tap into the darkest places of the human psyche to not only survive, but to exact her revenge...

This sounds better than what had been reported prior on sites, that part 2 would be set twenty or so years after the first (the original or the remake?  Who knows...) and the folks in the small town where the murders occurred and the court case were to get mad and rise up, or something, I dunno.

Stephen R. Monroe is to return once again to direct, Jemma Dallender (a newbie known only for a small role in "Hollyoaks" and "Community") is to star (now here's the confusion, IMDb names the main character as Katie, but the above states Jessica), Neil Elman also returns to write the script along with Thomas Fenton who was involved in writing "Chain Letter" and "Saw IV."

Anchor Bay are to distribute whatever epic or mess it becomes.
