Severed Cinema News: The Deadbeat is Back Soon!

THE DEADBEAT IS BACK SOON!

Day of the Deadbeat Promo

Like any red blooded gory indie horror fan, I worship the movies who changed the world around us. Films such as Bad Taste, Nekromantik, and Deadbeat at Dawn.

Deadbeat at Dawn was a deranged spectacle of violence and an almost nihilistic finger to the face of large budget action and horror flicks at its time. Jim VanBebber made so much of his low finances by working hard with every person involved. Here's the big question:

Did anybody imagine there would be a sequel?

Nope. I didn't. However, Facebook has thrown up a couple of posters for Day of the Deadbeat in the last week. It's a teaser, Jim himself has confirmed it isn't a hoax since he's released the posters on his page as well. So whilst Detroit Rising, which I reported on a long while ago (here), simmers in pre-production hell, here's something else to change your underpants to.

There's no synopsis as of yet, so keep your eyes and ears open for updates.
