A Third Wicker Man Coming Soon Print E-mail

Okay, so a lot of people felt let down by Robin Hardy's "The Wicker Tree" since there was no chance at all it would match the first part of his Pagan trilogy "The Wicker Man" back in the seventies.  Many felt "The Wicker Tree" didn't even try to be a different beast -- it just existed and disappointed with an unremarkable conclusion (let's be fair here, a lot of recent movies suffer the same low level ending.)  Perhaps it was the ridiculous remake which took away (“Aaah, the bees!!”) from the memory of the first.  I dunno.  Either way Robin Hardy has announced a few times within the last two years his aim to make a third and final instalment called "Wrath of the Gods."  I am just at the opening stages of financing it ("Wrath Of The Gods") and hope to make it next year.” said Hardy (Bloody Disgusting).  Apparently because the first two films are about offerings to the Gods and the third is about the Gods.  (Why do I feel a shudder of "Clash of the Titans?"...  Naah, that's impossible surely.)

"Wrath of the Gods" will be filmed in the Shetland Islands and is looking for funding from Creative Scotland and the Shetland Arts Development Agency, according to and article in The Scotsman.
