"Hi-8" Movie Poster on Severed Cinema

"Hi-8" doesn't like CGI.  That's the truth.  New movie "Hi-8" is all CGI free and very bloody.  It's another one of those VHS style things, where various talents get together and make an anthology movie.  The rules were, no green screen and all practical effects.  It's the brainchild of producer Brad Sykes ("Camp Blood"), who roped in a few low budget/indie directors for the project, including Marcus Koch, Todd Sheets, and Donald Farmer.

"Hi-8" (aka: Hi-8: Horror Independent, or something) has had a few showings around the USA, so we can reckon on a bigger release date coming soon.  Hi-8's general selling point is: “No found footage, no HD or DSLRs, no greenscreen or CGI.  All the shorts will all be shot on location with practical makeup effects.  What everyone should expect from "Hi-8" is a return to good and gory horror storytelling, old school, but with a twist.  Many of the participating filmmakers directed some of the very first SOV horror movies, and "Hi-8" is an attempt to recapture the excitement, and creativity of those pre-dvd, pre-internet years”
