MS. 45 READY TO SHOCK  AGAIN

Abel ("Driller Killer," "King of New York") Ferrara's classic rape revenge gritty epic "Ms. 45"/aka "Angel of Vengeance" (1981) is coming back on Blu-Ray, come March 25th next year released through New Video Group and Drafthouse Films.  If you haven't seen it yet, it gets a very large Creepy thumbs up.

A timid and mute woman gets raped twice coming home from work and decides to take matters into her own hands. She dresses suggestively and roams the streets alone, wreaking vengeance upon anyone who tries to take advantage of her. Eventually, her secret life spills over into her regular life in the fashion industry.”

This upcoming release is fully uncut and totally remastered from original negatives.  Often described as Abel's masterpiece, it has had a couple of DVD releases over the last few years (Image Entertainment, plus an often bought Korean import) but this is its intro to blu-ray.

In Brad Stevens’ biography “Abel Ferrara: The Moral Vision”, Ferrara recalls of the film, “it shook people up to see an innocent person like themselves suddenly becoming a wanton murderer.”

Zoe Lund stars and Abel also features as a rapist.  No news on any extras yet.  Meanwhile here's a lil trailer:
