WYRMWOOD: ROAD OF THE DEAD... COULD BE A BAD ASS MONSTER

Post apocalypse Mad Max style zombie film anyone? I know it's been done before, and not too well to be honest, put the pics and trailer from this little beast looks like salvation. It's Australian and filmed in the perfect locations for a zombie/Mad Max style end of civilisation subject matter.

Wyrmwood follows Barry, a mechanic and family man, as he struggles to rescue his sister, who was kidnapped by soldiers on the eve of a zombie apocalypse. He sets out through the harsh, blood-splattered Australian bushland to battle both the undead and the military alike.

The trailer has a feel of The Battery to it, very bleak, and as for the stills, yep, I like the look of this. In a world soaked in quickly punched out zombie movies, this could be a stand out flick.

Director/co-writer Kiah Roache-Turner is a newbie with a handful of short films under his belt, so this one might be his breakthrough. Wyrmwood stars Jay Gallagher (To Become One), Luke McKenzie (Wentworth Prison, Perfect Sense) and Bianca Bradley (Wrath, The Washing Machine – short) and the film was actually completed back in 2014.
