A slab of brutal American death metal here from Illinois. A one man project, no less, and the madman behind the project is Shaun M. LaCanne. Putrid Pile have four full length releases and a couple of splits under its belt, not including this recent diatribe of undeniable sickness. I'm not completely familiar with the band and was listening to them before I found out it was a solo project. Now I'm impressed as fuck. I checked out a couple of their earlier releases including Collection of Butchery, and Blood Fetish, and I also read that this is the newest, but not necessarily, best release thus far since its inception.

The almighty Sevared Records have done the deed by releasing another quality band's uncontrollable brutal death metal onslaught. I have listened to Paraphiliac Perversions a good half a dozen times now in its entirely and am enjoying it more with each spin. The haunting whispering Intro spirals into a chaotic screaming opener with Death Decor but it's possibly not the strongest track on the album as it sounds devoid of a necessary dose of heavy bass and more on the high side.

LaCanne rips through the 14 tracks of guttural blast-beat-ridden death with the precision of a demented surgeons rusty scalpel. The production on this is so crystal clear and precise it almost takes away from the down and dirty death carnage its trying to convey, with such tracks as My Semen Rots in You and Gutter Sludge Tramp. It shows that brutal death metal has evolved in 2016 and still stayed true to its roots in that evolution. Endless heavy ended bass drum kicks, blistering blast beats and technically performed guitar breakdowns galore. The vocals switch from sewer erupting guttural growls to high raspy screams. We get some punk/hardcore influence breakdowns and the breakneck speed of the album just bludgeons you repeatedly.

Putrid Pile have developed their own style for sure but its all very similar to Dying Fetus technical death metal sound but after this release the ball has definitely landed in Putrid Pile' court due to the simple fact its a one man project. Paraphiliac Perversions rips serious ass and the production is out of this fucking world. It's not original and some of the tracks are very similar in structure but if you're cutting your teeth on brutal death metal or even an experienced listener, you can't go wrong with this solid release.
