Mathieu Carrière (or “Nathieu” as the King of Video VHS release names him, twice) plays a Vietnam vet, named Cain Adamson (his name only identified to the viewer by his passport) who is returning to the US.  When the flight runs into problems, he is forced to make a stop over in Ireland where he gets caught amidst an IRA movement.  In Naked Massacre, Carrière resembles a cross between David Hess’s character Alex, in House on the Edge of the Park, and John Amplas’s character from Martin.  Soldier Adamson spends his time walking around trying to concoct a way in which he can return home sooner.

The day after spending a night in a hostel, Adamson notices a boarding house filled with young beautiful nurses.  Being the swift lad that he is, he knocks on the door asking for food.  The striking vixen Amy (Carole Laure, Sweet Movie) greets him at the door and gives him some food.  Amy’s appearance instantly reminds him of his cheating wife, bringing back memories of a not so cheerful past.  Adamson leaves with his complimentary meal, as rage manufactures inside him.

Later that night he returns to the boarding house, with a vengeance.  Our ex-vet enters and takes each female tenant captive, and ties them up (Richard Speck anyone?).  While tied, he assures the lovely lasses that he does not intend to harm them.  He claims he is merely there because he has to.  He must take their money so he can return home, back to America.  Equipped with his switchblade he proceeds to take Amy (the food bearing woman from earlier) into another room where he once again reassures the frightened women they will not be harmed.  Once in the other room he proceeds to make pointless chitchat and reveals that his wife cheated while he was in Vietnam with his buddy Jim.  The anger continues to build and he tells her to shout “fuck me”.  When she does not oblige he makes her his first victim by choking her to death with his belt.

When his actions register, Adamson believes all is now lost.  Not caring about his future he continues on his purposeless path of human destruction.  Some women are stabbed.  Upon instruction two girls Jenny (Leonora Fani, Giallo A Venezia), and Christine (Boisson) are forced to have sex with one another.  Another woman even has a mental breakdown, laughing uncontrollably.  Her inevitable demise follows.

One specific aspect of the film I really enjoyed was the dialog.  It came across so ridiculously cheesy.  In one scene in particular when Jenny is finished her shower, Christine is drying Jenny’s hair and tenderly says to her “You should wear drops of water all the time.  They go with your skin.”  During another, Adamson converses with an Asian he meets at the hostel where he is staying.  With an amusing voice, the funny looking man says the insanely preposterous dialog “you don’t even have the guts to touch your bitch of a wife, with your tool or your knife.  That’s true isn’t it?  You’re scared of women.  You know it’s true.”

Naked Massacre contains all the trademark enjoyment one would expect from an Exploitation/Horror film from this era.  The film’s dialog is terribly funny as mentioned above, complete with overshot Irish accents “ye facker”.  It even shows an outrageous scene in which an elderly overweight hooker is forced to dance topless for our killer.  Even if the film doesn’t contain a profound amount of viscera, it is brutal and does contain sequences of sexy nurses, frequently naked and getting murdered.  Fans of Eurosleaze cinema from the 70’s that is sprinkled with cheese and a cheerless atmosphere, will want to seek out Naked Massacre… if you can find it.
