Revenge is her Middle Name is a throwback to the days of the 70's grindhouse style pot boilers which could be found in grimy porno theaters. This one is perhaps one of the sleaziest and dirtiest movies I've discovered in quite some time. Made in 2011 it could easily top most rape revenge movies in pure sleaze-factor alone. That being said, it is no I Spit on Your Grave or Nail Gun Massacre.

Director Anthony Matthews tries to recreate those glory days of sleazy yore and accomplishes the grime and dirt and treads on familiar territory. The first half is fast paced. It gets the viewer engaged quickly. I was hoping the last half would have a crazy revenge plot being carried out by our (anti) hero and would have more of an intense climax. The ending or "final confrontation" left a lot to be desired, especially after all the build-up and what our lead lady Kat (Lissa Brennan) endured at her pimp Leroy (Barry D. Givner Jr.) hands.

The movie opens with possibly one of the coolest sleaze intros ever, with a dude getting his pink piccolo played in the alleyway by our heroine. We are introduced to Kat, a tough as nails scraping down a chalkboard hooker who lives in an urban Hell -- a literal world of shit. Kat shares her crack house apartment with her beau, Dolph (Michael Todd Schneider, who has the best role in the movie). Kat is illogically obsessed with getting pregnant it seems and somehow feels it will make everything wrong in her life better. She gets her junkie boyfriend Dolph to mount her on a dirty mattress in their apartment. This scene can easily kill a boner at twenty paces. After months and months it finally happens. Kat gets some baby batter successfully mixed inside her. Now she comes up with an even more fucked scheme of robbing her pimp Leroy -- more illogical behavior of a trick turning crack head, surely this will make things even better!

Lead actress Lisa Brennan's facial expressions and acting are way over-the-top. Michael Todd Schneider (August Underground’s Mordum, His Devils Night, I Never Left the White Room) steals the movie -- his scenes are the best. I wish he was in it more. His portrayal of a cracked out wigger is unparalleled. Was he one at some point in real life? Leroy's character could have been pure gold but I felt it fell a little short. It would have been a great opportunity for some hilarious pimp ridden humor.

The special makeup effects are mint of course. You have Toetag alumni Jerami Cruise and crew at the helm. I love the fact that every character in the movie is a deplorable sack of shit. It makes the realism of the whole affair that much more detestable. Kat, the lead character, is probably one of the worst ones in it. I had a hard time feeling sorry for her. I think I felt sorrier for the paraplegic guy who at least got a little piece of rotten crack whore nookie during the rape scene.

Overall the film is a watchable entry in the rape/revenge genre. Revenge is her Middle Name is sleaze ridden to the brim, you'll need a shower after viewing and steel wool to rip and tear it out of your pores. The movie can be purchased from Unearthed Films.
