Gialli, Guns, & Gore: The Darren Ward Crime Trilogy Reloads on Blu-ray!

The greatest crime trilogy ever built in the empire of UK underground flicks is coming as a limited edition Blu-ray set.
Darren Ward is no stranger to the pages of Severed Cinema, having been interviewed years ago twice (see The Violent and Gun Loving World of Darren Ward and The Violent and Gun Loving World of Darren Ward Part II) whilst his movies have all been reviewed by various members of the crimson loving writers.
His trilogy of terror, the ones that specialise in guns, gialli, and gore, are coming out from the tunnels of Treasures Films, and are limited to 2000 Blu-ray editions.
Sudden Fury (see review of Sudden Fury here), A Day of Violence (see review of A Day of Violence here), plus the jaw-dropping epic, Beyond Fury (see review of Beyond Fury here). They all deliver the blood, mutilation, and bullets plus guest stars from the golden era of European made horrors, westerns, and action movies from the ‘70s and ‘80s.
This release is genuinely a must have for all bloodhounds and lovers of low budget indie nastiness. Estimated release date is currently February next year.
This exhaustive set collects the entire output of the “John Woo of Southampton,” Darren Ward, whose high-octane and ultra-violent features deliver no-holds barred gunplay, heaps of gore, and fiercely independent love-letters to Italian genre cinema. Treasured Films are proud to present our debut 3-Disc Blu-ray boxset featuring Ward’s three feature films, but also his many shorts with each disc loaded with extras in this much-treasured limited edition!

Disc 1: Sudden Fury (1997)
Randall is a small-time crime boss with his eye firmly on his rival’s cocaine stash and criminal empire. Randall and his right-hand henchman Jimmy hire legendary hit man Walker, to take out his nemesis Harris. With Harris out of the way, Randall plans to take over sole distribution of the cocaine trade for the south coast of England. It soon becomes apparent to Walker that Randall never intended to pay for his work and his plan of domination soon becomes compromised. Randall pulls out the stops to have Walker killed, but Walker doesn’t go down easy…
Featuring screen legend David Warbeck (The Last Hunter, The Beyond) in one of his final roles, this SOV bullet ballet lashes on the squibs, bloodshed and pyrotechnics with some insanely impressive action set pieces which would soon become a Ward standard.
This disc not only collects extensive extra features surrounding Sudden Fury, but also showcases Ward’s early shorts Paura Il Diavolo (1992), Blue Fear (1993) and the dry-run for Sudden Fury – Bitter Vengeance (1994) – a real treat for fans of golden-era shot-on-video grue!

Disc 2: A Day of Violence (2010)
Mitchell Parker lies dead on a morgue slab. In life, he served the low ranks of debt collectors, surrounded by the filth and scum that the streets had to offer. On a routine collection he stumbles across £100,000 in cash, hidden in the sofa of one of his clients. A dark and haunting past hangs over the head of Parker, one that will lead him on a journey of redemption and ultimately sacrifice. Hunted by the gang whose money he has stolen, he must evade capture and use the money to rid himself of his demons once and for all.
Featuring infamous Italian horror icon Giovanni Lombardo Radice (Cannibal Ferox, House at the Edge of the Park), A Day of Violence is undoubtedly one of the most uncompromising and gritty crime splatter epics to emerge from the UK!

The concluding part of Ward’s ‘Crime trilogy’ is his most ambitious, action packed and goriest of the three.
Giovanni Lombardo Radice returns at the height of his powers as lead villain Ivan Lenzivitch alongside other screen luminaries including Dan van Husen (Salon Kitty, The Killer Barbys Vs. Dracula), Dani Thompson (The Pocket Film of Superstitions) and The Bill’s PC Reg Hollis himself, Jeff Stewart!
