Antropophagus 2: A Return to Joe D'Amato's World!

I just chanced upon this little newsworthy gemstone whilst writing a review and checking the credits of a writer. There in stark gory glory it said Antropophagus 2, directed by Dario Germani, coming 2021. What the hell is this??!! And how has this slipped by me so far???!!!

I simply adore the original Antropophagus. It holds fond memories for me and I love the unofficial sequel that Joe D’Amato popped out, Absurd. In fact, aside from a few little annoyances, I don’t mind Andreas Schnaas’ Antropophagus 2000 (see review here) so this news has floored me. I’m like eyes-popping! I found loads of pictures on a few Euro Horror websites, but the writeups reveal nothing much about the plot so is it a remake? A sequel? The cast is predominantly female, the movie was shot near Rome and the producer was also involved in Argento’s Dracula 3D plus Bruno Mattei’s final films.

Director Dario Germani has mainly worked since the early 2000’s as a cinematographer whilst writer, Lorenzo De Luca has written many Italian scripts and is currently involved in Enzo G. Castellari’s upcoming The Fourth Horseman/ a.k.a. Keoma Rises, which I reported on a while back.

The cast has Alberto Buccolini playing the monster, whilst the many ladies have resumes varied in size, centrally in their home country.

Antropophagus 2 really has caught the eyes of your beloved Mr. Creepy. I will be looking for more information and will report here once I discover more…
