Black Lava Entertainment: A Fiery Eruption of Horror Films on the Horizon!
Wow, usually with Black Lava Entertainment there are maybe only one or two movies due to erupt like molten gore. However, this time around, I had to figure out the best of a good bunch. Some have release dates; others are to be announced.
First and to the front of this news article is the one I’m really looking forwards to: Man-Eater (Anthropophagus II)! Yes indeed. Severed Cinema’s Richard Taylor will be reviewing this brilliant (hopefully it’s brilliant) sounding flick. Back in 2021, I reported the news of its existence (see the article Antropophagus II: A Return to Joe D’Amato’s World here) and I think I was one of the first, if not the only one, for a lot of people were rather shocked. It doesn’t have much really to do with the original, apparently, but I’m a massive fan of Joe’s evil ‘80s cannibal nasty, so Severed fingers crossed, director, Dario (The Slaughter) Germani does it justice (hey, he has another one lined up as well).
Man-Eater is due to drop late April, yes, I will be pre-ordering this regardless of whether it’s good or bad because, let’s face it, Anthropophagus 1 wasn’t a slice of Orson Welles, but it’s one of my favs cause I adore fucking trash.
Here’s a trailer for Man-Eater (Anthropophagus II):
Next along on the conveyor belt of raw meat comes Megalomaniac (see review for Megalomaniac here), by director, Karim Ouelhaj is also exploding at the end of this month. It’s claimed to be a brutal unflinching film, about two kids who are spawned from a notorious serial killer, the Butcher of Mons, but you be the judge. The trailers look brilliant (see below):
Both Man-Eater and Megalomaniac releases come with extras and alternative covers.
Also on the horizon, but without release dates there is The Door of Sin, Juval Marlon’s brutal Des Töchterleins Leid (Suffer Little Daughter), damn he’s come a long way since the first shorts we reviewed here on Severed Cinema. All this and many more…
