‘Bone Sickness’ Rises from the Grave in a Gory Blu-ray Debut from Saturn’s Core and Vinegar Syndrome

New Jersey-based cult cinema champions Saturn’s Core Audio & Video, in partnership with OCN Distribution and Vinegar Syndrome, are thrilled to announce the Blu-ray debut of Brian Paulin’s 2004 shot-on-video (SOV) horror masterpiece, Bone Sickness. This limited edition release, featuring a chilling slipcover designed by Eerie Crypts, is restricted to just 1,000 units and is available exclusively through VinegarSyndrome.com and select indie retailers—no major retailers will carry this gruesome gem!
A Tale of Terminal Terror
In Bone Sickness, Alex (Rich George) is a man ravaged by a terminal bone disease, with no hope from conventional medicine. His desperate wife, Kristen (Darya Zabinski), turns to a macabre solution, enlisting Alex’s morgue attendant friend Thomas (Brian Paulin) to harvest skeletal remains from a local cemetery. The plan? Grind up the decaying marrow to feed Alex as a twisted form of nourishment. But this grotesque remedy unleashes hellish consequences: Alex transforms into a worm-spewing “necro junkie,” ravenous zombies claw their way from the earth to feast on the living, and a sinister race of goblins emerges to punish humanity for its hubris.
A Fulci-Inspired Gore Fest
Directed by Massachusetts’ SOV maestro Brian Paulin (Fetis, Septic), Bone Sickness is a love letter to the visceral zombie epics of Lucio Fulci, drenched in practical gore and creature effects that push the boundaries of underground horror. From entrail-munching mayhem to garage door decapitations, skill saw vivisections, explosive worm defecation, and a jaw-dropping machine gun jaw removal, this film delivers some of the most unforgettably violent imagery ever captured on screen. Paulin’s signature flourishes—high-risk car stunts, full-body burns, striking naturescapes, and unabashed nudity—make this 102-minute descent into madness a must-see for gorehounds and cult film fanatics alike.
