Flesh Eater X Blu-ray Review: A Grisly Adult Descent into the Mind of a Perverse Serial Killer!
Knowing what we know about SamHel having watched many of his movies, my Partner in Gore, Willow, and I had originally planned a drinking game – take a shot every time an alternative girl masturbates. However, Flesh Eater X has a longer than usual running time, Willow changed our minds, “We’d be dead by halfway!”
Anyhow, SamHel probably doesn’t need much of an introduction to regular readers of Severed Cinema. There is a reason why Flesh Eater X is presented by Severed Cinema — it’s because, currently, Sam is one of the poster boys for extreme underground gore ‘n’ fetish flicks. He works hard constantly creating usually short and juicy glimpses into Hell, with, for instance, The Satanic Works of Jasmine (see the review for The Satanic Works of Jasmine here) and Sadistic Pleasures (see review for Sadistic Pleasures here) among others. Tattoos, sticky fingers, and blades. There is nothing quite like that formula.
Flesh Eater X, as I said, is a feature length. It’s Sam’s first (Let’s Stop at the Morgue comes close, released around the same time) and he pulls out all the stops including bringing back a few of his previous cast names. Our central character, Robyn Kennedy (Wolvie Ironbear of Let’s Stop at the Morgue and Lovedump) is a trans person, and her gig is photography. We open proceedings to her and a girl talking in a hotel. Robyn is gently seducing her soon to be victim. The seduction becomes full penetration sex — yeah, Robyn has a cock — followed by murder then cannibalism.
An intelligent angle has flashes of the coming aftermath slaughter as they fuck so viewers don’t assume that this is going to be lengthy SamHel standard stuff, but a new style.
Featuring predominantly throughout this film is the host of a radio called, ‘The Gates of Hell,’ showcasing killers and death. The voice (sounding AI but is actually Zoe Angeli, aka Ossuary Angel, of Lovedump and Vania) states this episode is titled, The Ill-Fated Valentine, which happened in San Francisco, February 2011. Robyn Kennedy ritualistically butchered four women. We get to watch it all unfold, with moody music accompanying our journey.
Nobody speaks in Flesh Eater X. The host does it all. Meanwhile, Robyn likes to film herself bashing her penis about whilst flicking through magazines — a hobby close only to stamp collecting and bus spotting. Then she eerily wanders the streets. A scheduled meeting with a model gets canceled, however she spies Rebecca who is bending over pantiless in a cemetery. Rebecca has returned from spitting out cockroaches and tentacles in The Satanic Works of Jasmine (or it hasn’t happened yet, both movies came out 2021). She is happy to go to Robyn’s hotel room. I think Rebecca Vanguard has done more porn than Ron Jeremy, most of ‘em have funny titles (see my review for The Satanic Works of Jasmine). Then, before long, she’s nude.
Mass scenes of tattoos, sex, cock sucking, and diddling fly by before Rebecca is gutted on the bed whilst Robyn takes photos, consumes flesh, then fucks the gaping wounds, ala Flesh for Frankenstein.
Speaking of tattoos, the next lamb to the slaughter, Sharon, played by Kailia Eve of Sadistic Pleasures plus tons of porns with titles to rival Rebecca’s list (My Wife Banged a Trans, Cuma Sutra Magick) is a mass of ink, including some awesome horror ones — Sid Haig looks rather happy to be on her skin. My word she has a huge painful looking ass tattoo as well.
After poses, sucking, and squirts, Robyn chokes her out old-school wrestling style. Multiple stabbings bring forth such sweetness (the actress is still breathing whilst playing dead, lol) then some absolute intense necrophilia.
Flesh Eater X concludes poetically with closure, accompanied by Ed Gein theatrics and antics. SamHel’s vision, extended to 75-minutes, doesn’t outstay it’s welcome. Aided by a shower of Grand Guignol graphic brutality, Flesh Eater X moves along brilliantly.
The effects are unpleasant and totally captivating, ‘in-your-face’ taking no prisoners. Willow and I discussed how Robyn’s motivation is never revealed, just the fact she’s aroused by cutting and fucking the dead! Her appetite for blood and flesh couldn’t be satisfied, she’s a gore nymphette. Mind you, the Blu-ray cover we reviewed from, kind of reveals a lot more about what is going on inside Robyn.
A Baroque House, per usual, has a basic content menu, trailers plus a gallery, but the quality of the picture and sound is excellent. It’s easy to say that Flesh Eater X is without doubt Sam’s best and most solid achievement from what we’ve witnessed. As the years go by, this realm of butchery will only grow to greater heights of insanity. Flesh Eater X comes highly recommended!
