Fright Night II Resurrected: Red Shirt Pictures and Synapse Films Tease Long-Awaited Re-Release!
I’m a bit late to the party, but just in case you haven’t heard, there’s something coming that a lot of people have been waiting on for a very long time. Fright Night II is getting a new (not out-of-print expensive eBay copy, nor Spanish import DVD) release via Red Shirt Pictures and old faithful’s, Synapse Films.
It’s way too early for any information or cover art as Michael Felsher of the label says it likely won’t be until 2026.
Personally, I rate Fright Night II as one of the worst ‘80s sequels ever along with Waxwork II. It’s pointless, thrown together quickly, and adds nothing of worth, but that’s just me (mind you, I like The Gate 2, The Hills Have Eyes 2, and The Howling 2 so I guess that’s a little insight into my mind).
Meanwhile, Red Shirt Pictures are also working on 976 Evil 2 plus Prom Night 2, 3, and 4 (number 2 aka Hello Mary Lou is an absolute blast).
Anyway, when more info drops, Severed Cinema will letcha know.
