From Pixels to Panic: Puppet Combo’s ‘Night Shift’ Heads to the Big Screen
Puppet Combo are an indie gaming company who released a game called Night Shift back in 2018. Was it a hit? Hey, I don’t know, I’m not a gamer. It’s the first I’ve heard of it to be honest. They’ve done a fair few splatter games with titles like Nun Massacre and Murder House, so I guess they’ve done okay.
Anyhow, there’s a movie coming out next year based around the Night Shift game directed by one of the game creators, Benedetto Cocuzza. It stars a load of up-and-coming talents along with a couple of time served actors. So, what’s it all about?
Unaware that a serial killer is stalking clerks in 24-hour convenience stores, Debra reluctantly takes the night shift at her minimum-wage gas station job after her co-worker disappears. What begins as routine shelf-stocking and floor-sweeping quickly spirals into a heart-pounding descent into paranoia, dread, and blood-soaked madness as the killer closes in…
What’s the special treat in store? Night Shift is set in the ‘80s and is supposed to be a pure attention to detail VHS looking slasher (apparently their games have a retro early PlayStation style). Yummy.
