Gym of the Dead on IndieGoGo!
Gore bless Emir Skalonja. His film, Savage, appeared on Severed Cinema a while back (see review for Savage here) and a quote from my loving scribbles appeared on the DVD sleeve (he promised to send me a copy twice but never did, mind ☹️). Soon after his brilliant short, Till Death Do We Rot (see review for Till Death Do We Rot here) appeared on these pages which cemented his rep. His history is of well-known underground movies such as the Plague series, Flesh of my Flesh, and many more.
Currently he’s working on two films, Callback, and this one, Gym of the Dead. His IndieGoGo campaign gives you all a chance to bag a poster, a t-shirt, DVD, video call, and if you can travel to the set, to be a zombie!!
He’s not done too bad on the cast so far either. Dani Thompson has a CV overflowing with crazy movies including Beyond Fury (see review for Beyond Fury here) which I appeared in as well, and Megan (The Manson Family Massacre, Jurassic Predator) Lockhurst amongst others.
Welcome to Bodacious Bodies, the place to be in the 1980’s for those who want all eyes on them. Bulging muscles, tight bodies and so much neon it could blind a blind man. Come in, get fit quick or hit the bricks.
When toxic waste that is being transported to a secure location finds its way into the private water supply of the local gym it will only be a matter of time before those inside become more than they ever dreamed of being.
Only a handful of the non-infected stand against the zombie horde in what will be a test of strength, teamwork and downright brutalness in this zombie black comedy horror.
Nuff said really. Gym of the Dead seems totally fun, totally ‘80s, totally unoriginal, and that’s the beauty of what sounds like a cool little gem.
