‘Society’ Theatrical Poster Statue Coming From Unearthed Films – Ultra Limited and Handcrafted Horror Art
Unearthed Films is literally pulling back the flesh to reveal a project that fans of grotesque ‘80s horror have been dreaming of: an ultra-limited theatrical poster statue inspired by Society, the surreal and body horror film from director Brian Yuzna.
Unearthed Films CEO Stephen Biro just dropped a sneak peek on Facebook, showcasing a beautifully deranged sculpt based on the film’s original theatrical poster art — the unforgettable image of a glamorous woman casually peeling her own face off. Horror fans will instantly recognize the image that burned itself into VHS covers and late-night nightmares everywhere.
“This is just the preview. We have been working on this for years,” Biro teased. “Indiegogo pre-sales will drop in a week! Ultra Limited Edition Statues for the film, SOCIETY! They are gorgeous! Wait until you see the base in detail. We will also have variants!!! So excited!”
According to Unearthed’s Indiegogo teaser, each statue is handmade, sculpted, and painted in Hollywood by some of the top FX artists in Los Angeles. These are made-to-order only, so if you miss the campaign, you miss the statue — period.
Not only is the base said to be highly detailed (and we know Unearthed doesn’t mess around with the gruesome details), but there are also some killer variants in the works:
