Space Goblins Is Finally Crawling Out of the Wasteland — And It’s Going Full Grindhouse
It was way, way back in a year far, far away — in fact 2023 — that I posted an article regarding the beginnings of director Ams Overton’s ambitious project, Space Goblins (see article Space Goblins Will Be Returning Soon). Holy shit, this has been a long-time building, but the patience will pay off, even though the project is being helped by a large dose of A.I… Hmm, but it does have that crackly grindhouse appeal which is always cool.
Overton said to me he sees it as the spiritual successor to the original Robocop and 2012’s Dredd with some Mad Max, oh and has Severed Cinema poster boy, Rob Ceus in a cameo role (he’s also a producer).
Space Goblins is estimated to arrive in 2028 from MegaCity Media and basically boils down to being a reboot/sequel/remake/prequel/requel to a short, animated feature Overton put out in 2020.
Here’s a brief synopsis:
“Having been living off the grid for the last decade, bounty hunters, Gib and Gob find themselves being called back into action for what could be their very last assignment.”
