Split Review from Ensuring Your Body to Hell Productions!

What do you get when two extreme performance artists collaborate on a new project? Personally, for me it’s about an hour and a half of me holding onto my frank and beans thankful it’s not been mutilated, impaled, and tortured like Valient and Mulvanerty do for the duration of Split.

All kidding aside both of these extreme performance artists deliver some extraordinary and demented material guaranteed to titillate your dark side. Both show absolute devotion and conviction in delivering some of the most extreme self-inflicted damage on the human body. Enduring self-mutilation and bodily desecration for the viewer.

Jack Mulvanerty has a taste for deprivation and debauchery as seen in his previous short film Doll Fluids (see review here). His segment in Split features himself and female partner credited as Emily E. who get down ‘n’ dirty for close to an hour performing some twisted mutilation and sado rituals on each other. Fellas, if you don’t feel uncomfortable during scenes, then you’re a braver man than I. My only saving grace is Mulvanerty’s female companion is naked throughout the feature, and she looks mighty fine. 

Mulvanerty’s segment begins with him freebasing some heroin naked. His girlfriend is busy making these ritualistic masks both of them will wear as they go through a number of their body torture/cleansings. The couple really cut each other in this in certain scenes to give it an authenticity. The dick sewing scene had me squirming. The couple have some fun with a box cutter, choke/gag each other till regurgitation, Mulvanerty saws off his thumb, and more. They even mess with some dead rats by nailing them to a board, gutting them, and puking on them which I’m sure will piss some people off. 

Daniel Valient also known as White Gardenia (How to Raise Women from the Dead) has a 30-minute segment using some previous footage from the anthology Vore Gore (see review here) and XXX Dark Web (see review here). The infamous real pinky cutting is on here where he shears it off with a cleaver. His co-star Allison fries the severed pinky in a pan, dresses it with greens (cause food presentation is key here), and Valient eats it. There is also a scene featuring an actress, Chevr Nevin, fucking herself with scissors and then actually cutting off a piece of her pussy lips and eating it if that’s your thing! 

Probably the most fucked up part of Split (if that’s possible) we get Allison nailing Valient’s stretched out nutsack onto a table. This scene and Valient’s obvious pain during the process is pretty memorable to say the least. Plus, we get Valient actually randomly stabbing himself while Allison sucks and licks up all the blood. 

All of Valient’s performances are one hundred percent real and nothing is staged. The guy is a legendary maniac and the stuff he puts himself through is unreal. It’s also great to see him and Alison interacting on the screen as the both of them obviously have a very special and twisted bond with each other. Allison looks great of course on screen and fortunately spends most of her time naked and as the dominator/assistant to Valient.

Split is definitely some of the craziest shit out there right now. Both films are worth your time and more bang for your buck. Split is twice the sickness, a split collaboration drenched in human agony and self-inflicted degradation. Mulvanerty has taken his love for extreme cinema and used the best parts for his personal inspiration. White Gardenia has surpassed levels of depravity unbound to many human beings. So, to you sir, I raise a glass.
