The Cultivating Begins Again at Splatter Farm!

If anyone can recall back in 1987, a nifty and gory straight to video tape flick called Splatter Farm made the rounds. Made by brothers, Mark and John Polonia, it has taken so many decades, but thanks to the fascination in retro VHS movies, the surviving brother, Mark, is releasing and unleashing Return to Splatter Farm.

Checking their CVs, both brothers certainly didn’t vanish without a trace over the years, both were prolific in the genre. Mark is joined this time round by Jeff Kirkendall who is a name known to people seeing his low budget DVD bargain price films and his acting roles over the last twenty years or so.

Starring, Danielle Donahue who has starred in such titles as Bigfoot vs Zombies, Queen Crab, and that movie that sits in just about every CEX store throughout the world, Jurassic Prey, Mel Foliage (Swamp Zombies 2, Bloody Scum, Radioactive Flesh Eating – oh my God, some of these film titles are just amazing!!), and Tim hatch (Frozen Sasquatch, Shark Encounters of the Third Kind – see what I mean?? Hahaha). This proves to be an entertaining outing which I hope goes a new direction and doesn’t do a “Wink wink” attempt at creating the originals vibe again.

So what’s it all about?

Thirty years after the infamous ‘Death Farm’ murders in rural Pennsylvania, serial killing is in season once more. A young woman and her friends descend upon the farm to party after discovering that she has inherited the land. But soon after, the strange occurrences and brutal murders begin again.

Let’s keep in mind, when done correctly, a sequel made so many years later can work. For instance, Don’t look in the Basement 2 (see review of Don’t Look in the Basement 2 here), in my opinion is one of, if not the best film of 2015, whilst Manos: The Hands of Fate (see review of Manos here) bagged a sequel in 2018 called Manos Returns (I really need to see that!!!)
