The Return of the Terror Toons on IndieGoGo!
Terror Toons has been an on and off franchise kind of thing since 2002. The tale of teens receiving a cartoon DVD from the Devil himself, and all that stuff. Anyhow, it was a mix of animations and live action with blood ‘n’ humour (like Evil Toons from ’92). I saw it, didn’t strike a match with me, but it must have done many others since there’s been three altogether and a fourth one emerging next year. C’mon, it’s similar to the endless Puppet Master series. There must be an audience ’cause they keep getting made.
Yeah, Terror Toons 4, directed by Matthew Vinaja, with FX by Joe Castro (with Lisa Lex) who helmed the others, and is more of a busier FX guy. They’ve rounded up a mad mix of underground Scream Queens and legends for this one – Linnea Quigley, Brinke Stevens, the UK’s own, Emily Booth, Debbie Rochon (naturally, she’d have to be in it, she seems to be everywhere else) and Lizzy Borden makes her return, having starred in the other trio of nutty flicks.
Jed Rowen, Robert Rhine and Fred Olen Ray (yes, that guy, the one behind a multitude of straight to tape/DVD movies since the 80s) also star in this one.
However, one name caught my eyes, ah yes, my man, Douglas Epps. The bloke who totally stole the whole damn hairy show in Bonehill Road (see review here) in which Joe Castro also did the FX, then Doug took on the central role in Final Caller (see review here), along with appearances in Clownado and Dreaming Purple Neon. I love the guy, and this time round he’s playing the infamous Dr. Carnage. Nice.
On IndieGoGo you could for a bit of cash get to act in a scene, get signed stuff, t shirts, have your face animated in a credit sequence, all different kind of things.
