White Gardenia Shorts and Bondage Clips II Review!
Hagsploitation. Now that’s a term which doesn’t show up on a regular basis, however that’s how Daniel Valient has described one of the latest clips in White Gardenia Shorts and Bondage Clips II, that he has released via Film Freeway and an XXX website. Daniel is the constant in the changing line-up of White Gardenia, makers of short films and brutal pounding music. His films depict a world of pain and blood, nothing is staged. In my previous review of his shorts, back in 2019 (see review here), I pointed out that things run deeper than what is shown on the surface. Influences range from the early surrealists to old detective and bondage mags back in the ‘50s. However, as witnessed to a much wider audience in XXX Dark Web (see review of XXX Dark Web here), White Gardenia is an ongoing experiment in pain. Yes, he did do it, it wasn’t staged, and he did it as part of the experiment. No other reason.
Last time, in 2019, we watched Daniel stab himself repeatedly with scissors and also hack up his hand, amongst making his sub chew extreme amounts of gum and other things, this time around the levels have stepped up a notch.
It
is 8:53 according to the little digital alarm clock and our Gypsy Dog Dom has
his mask on and his girl handcuffed to the bed, which is standard behaviour in
his household. Titled simply, Bondage
Clip 5, this is a ten-minute clip which goes deeper into Daniels
fascination with pain. “I hate to see you
cry,” he says “I’ll never hurt you.”
Well, dunno about her, but I’m convinced. She looks pissed off anyway. “Is that a tear in your eye? Fuckin’ baby,”
he jeers, “Waaah.” He has her look
into the camera and go “Waah.” Bless
her, she sounds like a cute plush baby toy thing. I nearly fell about laughing
at her second attempt. I don’t imagine this was the effect he wanted, but I had
to replay that magic moment three times and I had tears of my own due to laughing.
It’s so random and cool, her expression as well adds to it.
Throughout this segment, information about experiments into pain, mainly the
S&M field flash up. All the while our sub is spanked by a wooden spoon,
then buggered a bit. Next she’s handcuffed and laid out on the hotel room
floor. Whilst this is happening, inter-cut images and music takes over until
she’s being spanked by the wooden spoon again. It all goes quite deep and is
schizophrenic in its aim. We have an attempt at S&M erotica, and the old
staples in the centrefold distraction for anyone drawn to this field when
Daniel places his rather artistic touches. My one big quibble is the fact the
narrated explanation and what is obviously a very interesting discussion on
torture, porn, video nasties, etcetera, is quite hard to understand and follow
due to the effect placed on the vocals. I skipped it after a while and it
didn’t improve. A shame.
Next up comes The Secret Perfume of Decay, running just under five minutes. It was sweet to hear a piano similar to that used in the Nekromantik 2 soundtrack. Here’s the before mentioned Hagsploitation, as Daniel does his Arthur Lucan/a.k.a. Old Mother Riley impression. As he preens and appears stressed in his hand mirror, I noticed to my alarm how much he looks like Johnny Depp in drag! Out comes a pair of scissors and his expression is of annoyance and bewilderment. I think he’s annoyed at his arm, it’s causing him distress. Oh, wait a minute, it’s his left hand he hates. “I love you, you’re so nice,” he tells his right hand as cupboards or doors close somewhere off camera like there’s a party going on or they’re sat chilling in a café. “I don’t like you at all, you’re bad.” he tells the filthy five on his left. After this goes in rotation back and forth for a minute, he hammers the scissors over and over into his left hand.
“You’re as worthless as a human ash tray!” snarls our once sub as she dots a cig on Daniel’s shoulder. For Bondage Clip 4, the roles are switched around, except he gets to keep his t-shirt on. “Fucking worthless cunt. Maybe you should just lick my tits all day!” My apologies, but it’s her calm voice just set me off chuckling again, all I could hear was her saying “Waaah” from the previous clip. “Yes mistress.” he pants. We’re in a battered old garage anyway, and he’s sat on a chair looking nervous.
“I let you suck on my tits, my glorious tits, and this is how you repay me??!!” she swipes at him, “You cunt!” I have no idea what he’s done but he looks subdued and accepting of his fate. To which he has to suck on her toes then rim her ass for punishment as ominous vocals and music plays. “Okay, now lick my sloppy pussy.” she instructs and so we go on. “That’s the worst fucking head I’ve ever had! What the fuck??!!”
Daniel and Allison are both a lot more trusting and comfy with each other than the last time I reviewed their shorts. The style has changed so much since 2018’s Blood is Sweeter than Honey (see review of Blood is Sweeter than Honey here) and in fact a lot of the dance, the swaying dreamy quality, has gone which is unfortunate, but it has been replaced by something more ruthless and rugged. Not a bad thing, truth be known, but if you’ve only ever seen that one then jumped into this, yeah, it’s a culture shock. I took the long route fortunately.
Bondage Clip 4 apparently has a longer version over on his personal website to view since she tells him he’s going to have to do something “more fucked up!” Overall, like I have said about White Gardenia before (in the XXX Dark Web and Blood is Sweeter than Honey reviews) it all has a sly wink and a bit of dark humour available to find if you know what to look for. Plus, I suppose it helps if you’ve known folks into this scene and learnt a bit more than the obvious shock hand to the face value.
Daniel Valient is a new mutation of GG Allin and a Deathmatch wrestler, who wants to experience feelings and take us with him. He doesn’t do it for profit, he does it to deliver his flesh and blood to his followers.
I will be harsh and honest, White Gardenia Shorts and Bondage Clips II are the weaker of their creations I have seen. I don’t watch every time expecting to see him hack pieces of himself off, but this time ‘round some of it seemed rushed and forced here and there, wherein previously it all developed carefully. Plus there’s a lot of time wasting in parts. But, as I said, this time ‘round, they are a bit more comfy and working together better.
