Shawn C. Phillips Unleashes ‘Lost Media’ — Cult Filmmaker Launches IndieGoGo for New Meta-Horror Nightmare
Shawn C. Phillips, the underground director behind such titles as Amityville Karen, Skate to Hell, Amityville Bigfoot, and Desert Fiends (see Schlock in the Sun: “Desert Fiends” Delivers Grindhouse Mayhem), is also a very busy actor, with over 200 movies to his name, including Desert Fiends, Dr. Gift, The Corpse Grinders, and Clown Motel 2 ‘n’ 3. He currently has an IndieGoGo campaign up and running, and it’s already raised a fair bit — probably because everyone loves the guy — plus he’s got a fair few solid rewards on there as well.
The film is called Lost Media and has Tom Arnold (True Lies), Robert Romulus (Fast Time at Ridgemont High), Spencer Breslin (The Cat in the Hat, Santa Claus 2, and 3, The Kid), as well as James Debello from Cabin Fever and Detroit Rock City.
Lost Media is going to be shooting in the Las Vegas area April 17 through the 30th and there’s a number of ways to help the project with everything from getting a special thanks credit, being a producer on the film, with everything from Associate, to full producer credit, or coming out in person for an acting role in the movie. We also have remote roles available that you can shoot from home like a Vlogger or newscaster in the film.
Lost Media is about a group of actors who are waiting to get picked up from their hotel to get taken to set only to be kidnapped by a group of crazed lunatics who just escaped from the mental hospital. The crazies take them to an undisclosed location and force them to be in their own wild movie instead of the film they’re supposed to be part of.
20-years-later, one of the actors from that film, who never worked again after the traumatic experience, is now discovered and brought onto a popular talk show where he reveals what happened to him and about the lost film, he was part of.
The kidnappers behind the lost film show up at the talk show and the film is finally played for the audience and everyone that watched the lost film will then find themselves part of the next soon to be Lost Movie.
Shawn has a great habit of getting known name celebs from the world of cult shit involved. He’s worked with Scout Taylor Compton, Eric Roberts, and Jenna Jamison to name just three.
