Chainsaws, Death, and Dark Sky Selects: Collector’s Editions You Can’t Miss
I honestly cannot remember when I last checked in on Dark Sky Films or Dark Sky Selects for Severed Cinema, if indeed if I have ever done it. They currently have some absolute beauties on sale for us all including a fantastic The Texas Chain Saw Massacre release plus a special edition of a flick that is so infamous it must be mentioned.
First up, there’s an amazing set of the original The Texas Chain Saw Massacre complete with a chainsaw. Seriously! This reminds me of the hard to get From Dusk Til Dawn set with a mini Titty Twister. It came out in 2024, and if you’ve missed it, oh boy, it needs to be owned.
Check this run down out:
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

All are housed in a replica of the iconic chain saw from the film, which comes in a special 50th Anniversary numbered box.
This limited edition also features a newly designed 50th Anniversary O-card and brand-new bonus content, including The Merchandise of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and The Restoration of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

Faces of Death
Next up, we have Faces of Death. Yes, they put out a special edition collectors Blu-ray steel box last year. What the holy fuck??!!! Remember when the world and its gran hated this film? Well, we’ve had a few cut editions out over the years plus a nice boxset of the full series that I own, but this monster is a given for fans of classic controversial titles and nasties.
Special Features:
• NEW “Many Faces of Death”
• Commentary with Director Conan Le Cilaire
• “Choice Cuts” featurette with Editor Glenn Turner
• “The Death Makers” featurette with FX creators Allan A. Apone and Douglas J. White
• Deleted Scenes
• Trailer
• Outtakes
Meanwhile, over on Dark Sky Films, the back catalogue is crammed full with weirdies and freakies such as Spider Baby, Skinner, Deadgirl, Frankenstein’s Army (what an amazing flick that is), Hatchet II, III, and IV (we need a part V immediately), Starry Eyes, Stakeland (another incredible movie), plus its sequel, Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer (I see this is the grandaddy of extreme films since Fred Vogel of August Underground told me he took a lot of inspiration from it), Stitches (see A Bloody, Gore-Fueled Clown Nightmare with Dark Humor and Chaos) and Deathgasm (see review here).
Here’s a link to Dark Sky Selects plus one for the original Dark Sky Films.
