Phantasm’s Reggie Bannister Needs Us Now – Let’s Help a Horror Legend

Ok, I guess, or at least I hope, you all know exactly who I’m talking about. If not, I’ll say his name loud, Reggie Bannister!

Reggie Bannister is the legendary star of Don Coscarelli’s underground series, the Phantasm flicks.

Aside from that, if you’re watching a movie and he pops by even briefly, you know it’s going to be a fun ride. Remember the multi-titled zombie film, Gangs of the Dead? I can’t remember it’s other names however I do know that his part was awesome.

Then there is Wishmaster are Bloody Bloody Bible Camp (his wife, Gigi Bannister also stars in that one). And that brings me to my point — as Gigi has mentioned a few times of social media, Reggie is seriously ill, he has dementia mainly. He struggles, he cannot attend conventions anymore, Gigi has him at home where he is safe and looked after.

However, I came across a post where Gigi is putting up loads of their collections of things hopefully trying to raise money. Why? A few people hard pressed her, and she admitted that they are thousands behind with their mortgage. Loads of people were commenting, offering prayers, kind words, but as I stated online, that doesn’t pay the bills, as cute as it all sounds.

I PayPal’ed Gigi some money. Not much, but something and I’m hoping that more will do this after reading my article. I didn’t want anything; I donated an amount that I knew I could afford.

I didn’t want any of their stuff, I know what it’s like to lose things due to money worries, so I am imploring whoever can even afford a handful of dollars, do this as a gesture. Gigi is proud, this is killing her inside, and I think she was reluctant that I’d write this, but I’m doing it anyway.

Endless years of love for their fans, endless movie roles we have enjoyed, they have always lived financially carefully, but they’ve been a long time away from movies and conventions, shit has a way of biting at the worst time.

Let’s look after Reggie and Gigi whether she likes it or not, they are a lovely couple and deserve some love.
