New horror film Pollen sends a chilling message about toxic workplaces and trauma!
Gravitas Ventures, an Anthem Sports & Entertainment Company, has announced the acquisition of North American rights to the highly anticipated horror film Pollen, directed by D.W. Medoff. The movie is a gripping and disturbing story of Hera (Ava Rose Kinard), a young woman trying to climb the corporate ladder, who is sexually assaulted by her boss and gaslighted by her coworkers. Her life spirals out of control as she experiences strange occurrences and is stalked by a terrifying tree monster.
Pollen is RoleCall Film’s fourth feature film and is set to premiere digitally on AppleTV June 6, 2023. While the film is a genuinely unsettling vision into the danger of people with power in corporate America, it also delivers an important message about the reality of trauma, abuse, and toxicity in the workplace. “Pollen is not just a horror film, but an important lesson on how horrible people can be. It’s a warning that shows the serious issues of sexual assault, toxicity in the workplace, and trauma,” said the writer and director D.W. Medoff.
According to Pollen producer Stephen Beehler, “RoleCall is excited to be in the trenches with indie filmmakers creating original stories that are both commercial and thought-provoking. Pollen amplifies the horrors that take place too often in corporate America and shows audiences these monsters in a very literal sense.”
Ava Rose Kinard, makes her feature film debut as the lead character Hera in the film. She tackles this complex, dynamic role and brings to life all the joy of a successful young woman and the deep pain that comes with inflicted trauma.
For those who can handle the intense subject matter of sexual and mental abuse, Pollen promises to be an unforgettable and powerful experience that will stay with you. Check out the trailer below.
