Reviving the Nightmare: Grotesque 2 – A Canadian Sequel to a Twisted Slasher!
No, this is not the Grotesque Japanese nasty from 2009; this is a Canadian sequel to the identically named psychopath slasher from last year, starring Elizabeth Chamberlain. Brandon Rhiness, director of Grotesque 2, has written and directed what looks like, at first glance, a million shorts and lesser-known little flicks over the years. Grotesque started life as a short in 2009, and then fleshed out to be a complete feature. It has since done great on Amazon and Tubi, etcetera.
The synopsis to the original went like this:
Lovable psychopath Mildred Moyer doesn’t take kindly to her back-alley plastic surgery operation getting botched and unleashes vengeance on everyone from her past who tormented her about her look
Whilst the upcoming second chapter reads as such:
Mildred Moyer is at it again, unleashing her unique brand of vengeance on a corrupt religious organization that took advantage of her and others.
Also starring in the film is Kevin Duffy (Desert Fiends), Christopher Korek (Don’t Fuck in the Woods 2), and Jaime Hill (Skinamarink, Grotesque). This one is going to be produced by Todd Chamberlain and cast members who have a list longer than yer arm in underground horror credits. There has been a campaign on IndieGoGo that’s nearly finishing up here.
